I am a social worker with over 13 years experience working in the community services. I started my career in disability, working with people with vision impairment and was trained by Royal Society for the Blind. Throughout my working life I’ve had the pleasure of working with people from a variety of backgrounds from foster carers to asylum seekers. My most recent role was teaching independent living skills such as cleaning, cooking, gardening, budgeting and goal planning to young people at risk of homelessness.
I have a very approachable and adaptable personality. I enjoy walking, gardening, cooking, swimming and organising. I like working with people to achieve their goals and stay motivated through the twists and turns of life.
I have experience working with a variety of mental health experiences; such as PTSD, BPD, anxiety and depression. I have also had the pleasure of supporting people with intellectual disabilities, learning and processing disorders and ASD.
I also have additional training in mental health first aid, suicide intervention, conflict resolution, first aid and CPR and food preparation and storage.
I like to laugh every day and try to make situations fun and playful. I am good natured, empathetic, compassionate and I look forward to meeting new people.
